The object of the game is to get as far as you can down the alphabet naming items that belong to a particular category.
For example, someone chooses a topic such as Places, Food, Names, Cars, Instruments, Stores, Sports, Stars, Sports Stars, or Family Members.
The group goes around in circle. The first person names an item within the topic that starts with the letter “A”. The next person has to then come up with a name or item in the category that begins with the letter “B”, and so on.
When someone is unable to come up with a word, they fall out and the next person has to come up with a word for that same letter. If no one is able to come up with a word for that letter, then all those that were unable to come up with a word for that letter start on a new letter. However, if someone is able to come up with a word for that letter, then those that could not are out of the game.
The play continues until only one person remains or the group has reached the end of the alphabet.
